The McMillan Sand Filtration Site is centrally located in Washington, DC’s Ward 5 (ANC 5C), about 2.5 miles due north from the Capitol Building. McMillan is nestled at a crossroads: the Washington Hospital Center is immediately north of the site, with the Bloomingdale and Stronghold neighborhoods closest into the site. The Eckington, Edgewood, LeDroit Park, Park View, and Bates Area neighborhoods are also nearby. McMillan sits in the midst of major academic institutions: Howard University, Catholic University, and Trinity University are each within walking distance.
